Greg Ball opposes affordable housing too? Is he for anything?

You've really got to admire Assemblyman Greg Ball. Not many politicians would have the courage to oppose health care for their constituents, housing for their constituents and Federal Funding for affordable housing but Assemblyman Ball seems to.

And in the Mid-Hudson news he also seems to indicate that Westchester County is being forced by an onerous Federal Government to build and market unnecessary affordable housing for minorities.

Actually the Federal Govertnment did not file the fair housing law suit against Westchester County that Mr. Ball has chosen as his latest target in villifying Government.
And the Federal Government did not mandate the solution either.

According to the New York Times the suit was filed by the Anti Discrimination Center a Manhattan based non-profit organization and according to Lo Hud, Westchester County asked the Federal Government to arbitrate a settlement rather than risk the loss of 180 million dollars.

So in this case The Anti Discrimination Center is seeking to protect minorities through the rule of law from housing discrimination and the Federal Government is seeking to protect both the interests of minorities and the taxpayers of Westchester County under the law.

But Mr. Ball seems opposed to any effort by the government or the law to shield us from abuse.

He wasn't opposed when taxpayers were required to pay for his education at the United States Air Force Academy.

Evidently Assemblyman Ball has no problem with government benefiting him he just doesn't want government to benefit anyone else.

Just the kind of representation we need in government, right?

Rational people would applaud this settlement

Ask those many in Westchester who can't afford decent housing about how "unnecessary" an affordable housing project like this is. This settlement was truly a win/win - for all taxpayers and for the person needing housing. Greg Ball doesn't like to see government work because that doesn't fit into story board he has created for this campaign.
