The two Republican candidates vying to challenge Congressmember John Hall have both decried his vote in favor of health care reform. Hayworth says that it will hurt our economy, Ball says it will replace the insurance lobby with government bureaucrats.
This year about 58 constituents of the NY 19th will die because they have no health insurance.
This conclusion is based upon a Harvard study which reports that 44,000 people will die annually in this country because they lack health insurance. I reached the number 58, based on the numbers of uninsured in the 19th congressional district.
Ms. Hayworth is apparently astonished that the National Academy of Ophthalmologists, of which she is a member, has endorsed the legislation. She offers nothing to support her conclusion that the health care reform will hurt the economy except debunked misrepresentations of the bill. Hayworth provides no real solutions for health care reform. Ball only offers his pay your doctor directly in advance plan, probably the dumbest thing anyone has put forward to date.
It's clear, Republicans Hayworth and Ball are just fine with 58 of their constituents dieing year after year. Letting those people die is the price these two are willing to pay for an unsubstantiated fear that our local economy will be damaged or that a government bureaucrat will be involved in health care rather than an insurance company bureaucrat.
Not only do these people want to be representing us in Congress, they actually live in our neighborhood. How embarrassing.

Why did you let those 58 people die last year when they could have been saved by that government run health care system? If you can add 35 million uninsured people to the VA system and still reduce costs and increase quality, why didn't you do it?
