Greg Ball just sent out this impassioned plea -
"Hello!
Tonight, the Shield and Cross is hosting a fundraising event to benefit Joe Acocella, the Town Clerk of Harrison, NY.
In just a few weeks, Joe will receive a life-sustaining kidney from his sister.
This surgery will save Joe's life, but insurance does not cover the entire cost, nor will it cover the cost to his sister, who must miss 8 weeks of work.
Tonight's $100 per head event will be held at.....
If you cannot attend, PLEASE send in a donation to:
........
Joe's a good man and a great personal friend. His life is in the balance. Please, support him today!
Greg Ball"
The friend who forwarded this to me responded to Greg as follows:
"this email points out how important it is to have good health care reform"
Now, I do hope the fundraiser is a success because I don't wish anyone with serious health needs to have to do without care.
But I shouldn't need to point out the hypocrisy of a guy who would do everything in his power to deny health care to his constituents, yet knows, from personal experience, that even the well connected can face challenges in paying for necessary care.
We need to keep Greg out of any public office.

It's quiet in here! Why not leave a response?
